Commingled Recycling

Service Description
Regular WOW Service includes every other week a 90 gallon cart and curbside motor oil, serviced every other week. Recycling service is not available in Polk County or Rural Yamhill County. Not sure if you are in recycling area? Check here.

Every Other Week
Recycling is picked up every other week on the same day that your trash is picked up. This may vary for customers in some areas, and for those with less than weekly garbage service.

Set It Out
Place your cart within four feet of the curb by 6am or the night before.

Preparation
Please rinse all food containers and flatten large boxes and jugs. OK to mix materials loose in the cart. No need to bag or separate items. Please do not use plastic bags.

Motor Oil
Place next to your recycling cart in clear plastic jugs with tight-fitting lids.

No Trash, Food or Bags
No Styrofoam, packing peanuts, food waste, paper plates or cups, facial tissues or paper towels. No plastic bags - please recycle bags at marked drop-off locations in grocery stores.

Yes! Throw It In
Cardboard, Newspaper, Magazines, Phone Books, Tin Cans, Aluminum, Plastic Bottles, Plastic Tubs, Pots and Buckets, Cereal Boxes, Junk Mail, Milk Cartons, Drink Boxes, Envelopes, Printer Paper and Shredded Paper (place in paper bags), Scrap Metal* (*metal must be less than 30 lbs. & 30 inches)

No! Keep It Out
Glass bottles and jars, will not be accepted in the carts. No Styrofoam, packing peanuts, bags or toys, trash, food waste, paper plates, tissues, paper towels, or food-contaminated paper.

Remember the 5 F's:
  • Free of Contaminants - No other plastics (Styrofoam, packing peanuts, bags or toys). No trash, food waste, paper plates, tissues, paper towels, or food-contaminated paper.

  • Free-falling - Make sure that items will fall out when your cart is dumped.

  • Fit - All items must fit inside your cart. Take extra items to a recycling depot. Do not leave items outside of cart.

  • Flatten - Flatten large jugs and boxes to save room in your cart for other items.

  • Full - Set out your cart when full. If your cart is nearly empty, please wait until your next pick-up day. We want to make every stop count!
