CARTM Recycling is uniquely designed to accept many MANY forms of what much of America considers waste.

Solid Waste (Trash)
Our customers bring trash by the bag and by the truckload - whenever they have accumulated enough. Staff monitors incoming trash loads and diverts many reusable and recyclable materials out of the waste stream. Then we measure the remaining volume and assess a fee (set by the county) to cover the cost of transporting and dumping solid waste materials in the landfill. See 'Transfer Station' above for fees and more information.

Recycling
Our customers sort their rinsed (where appropriate) glass, tin and aluminum cans, paper, cardboard, deposit bottles and cans, electronic equipment, metal, plastic, batteries, motor oil, lavatory fixtures, yard debris and construction/demolition debris at CARTM where they make a fine day of recycling! Recyclable materials are then bundled by staff and volunteers for eventual sale on the recycled materials commodities market, so that they will eventually return as new products and packaging. There are a few items we are not able to accept under our permit from DEQ and under Tillamook County regulations. A few items require a fee to process. See 'Recycling' above for a complete list of acceptable recyclable materials, and how to prepare them for recycling. Our staff is always ready to answer your questions.

Re-Use Store
After recycling, many of our customers head to the donations building to drop off reusable items for sale in our store. The store is arranged in convenient departments, where you will find good books, hardware, kitchen items, furniture, electronics, and whatever else the good people in our community determine needs a new home! Building materials, garden tools, mattresses and much more are housed in shelves and trailers outside the store. Come in! Browse! We guarantee you will find something interesting!
