It’s all about our people.
They make the trucks run on time. They’ve always got a friendly smile and a wave. They’re our employees, and they put the WOW in Western Oregon Waste! Everyone—from the driver who stops by your home to the person who answers the phone when you call—is committed to delivering the best possible service. And that’s just when they’re on the job!
Our employees are also active in all of the communities we serve, from McMinnville to Manzanita, Sheridan to Seaside, and Amity to Astoria. They participate in community events, coach softball, volunteer their time and talents and contribute in many ways.

“I am moving locations, and I’m sad to know that I won’t be on George’s route any more because he has always done an awesome job. He is just so nice and goes above and beyond for the customer all of the time!”

We love being part of your community.
We love the Fourth of July! There are plenty of parades where we can show our community spirit. Our coast team joined the Seaside 4th of July parade, and the Rockaway parade included a WOW truck, by accident! Our driver realized he was part of the parade when a bunch of kids along the road shouted out “honk your horn!” He checked his mirrors to make sure the truck was clean, and was very disappointed when he realized he had no candy to throw.
Have you heard of “Alien Daze” in McMinnville? WOW was there! Every May there’s a wacky and weird parade to recognize an historic alien sighting. With plenty of aluminum foil fashioned into protective hats, WOW’s amiable aliens tossed candy from the WOW “saucer” to all of the earthlings along the parade route.
WOW employees do more in our communities than join parades. They’ve also assembled teams to help battle cancer in the “Relay for Life.” The Coast team chose the theme “Help Us Trash Cancer” for their relay walk. The Valley team added a Spaghetti Day and a raffle for a handmade quilt to their fund-raising.
We contribute to our communities in other ways, such as providing drop boxes and temporary containers for garbage and recycling to various community festivals and special events; sponsoring a dunk tank for Clatsop County CASA; and donating gift certificates for garbage service to fund-raising auctions. Every WOW team member is committed to being a good neighbor.
