  • Aluminum items, like pop cans, pie tins, foil

  • Cardboard boxes, including those with wavy middle lining - No larger than 36" in any direction

  • Glass bottles and jars (food and beverage containers only, okay to mix colors, keep separate from other materials)

  • Magazines

  • Newspaper, insert ads, TV listings
  • Plastic bottles with necks only (neck is smaller than base)

  • Scrap metal, sized no more than 30" x 12" and 30 lbs

  • Telephone books

  • Metal cans, flattened, without labels; aerosol cans

  • Motor oil, in a plastic gallon jug with tight lid (set it next to your bin)

Rain, snow, wind…nothing can deter us, so put your stuff out anyway. But here’s a hint: If it’s windy, place light items in the bottom of your recycling bin and use a rock to keep material from blowing away. Also, it doesn’t matter if your recyclables get wet in the rain, so please don’t use plastic grocery bags to set out your materials. Use paper bags, a bucket or other reusable container.

THE FOLLOWING:

  • NO frozen food boxes, pizza boxes, milk cartons

  • NO ceramics, window glass, vases, light bulbs, drinking glasses, Pyrex®

  • NO plastic tubs, toys, bags, buckets, caps, Styrofoam®

  • NO Formica®, particle board, sheetrock, railroad ties
